“What a voice! Such a fluid, pure and honest sound. These guys keep the music sounding fresh.” - Jazz FM

VICTORIA KLEWIN & THE TRUETONES are the sweet-spot where great things meet: where tradition meets with originality and retro nostalgia gets down and dirty with musical fusion. Originally conceived as a cross between vocal jazz and blue-eyed soul, the Bristol 7-piece is all that and more, gracefully merging genres and styles to create music that is as unique as it is engaging and accessible. Their live shows pack a punch with front-woman, songwriter and powerhouse vocalist Victoria Klewin at the helm.

With their unique brand of catchy soul inspired tunes that also draw on elements of jazz and blues, VKTT have been making waves both locally and nationally. It's a very classy affair, oozing style and sultry retro vibes in a similar vein to contemporary artists such as Joss Stone, Alice Russell, Imelda May and Caro Emerald"The songs sound as if they were written in the 60's", says producer Rob Williams (Ruby Music). But this is far from a nostalgic tribute act. It is as if the band take the very best bits from old soul, jazz and blues and wrap them up in a new package. It's 'pop', but in the best sense of the word - catchy, finely-crafted tunes with a wealth of musical heritage and depth behind them.

The combination of flawless playing and powerful vocals has impressed at a number of prestigious shows, including the Bath International Festival, Marlborough Jazz Festival (where they were nominated for best newcomer), the semi-finals of the nationwide New Brunswick Battle of the Blues and a session for Jazz FM’s Discovery Show, live from the Boisdale. They are currently producing new material for their upcoming album and playing shows throughout the UK.

The debut EP is available here  and at all live gigs as well as from bandcamp.
